St. Anthony Foundation Awards Healthcare Scholarships to Local Students

St. Anthony Foundation, a prominent name in the healthcare sector of west-central Iowa, recently granted 40 scholarships totaling over $60,000 to local students pursuing healthcare careers. This initiative is aimed at supporting student achievement and highlighting the promising future of healthcare in the region.

The scholarships were awarded to students from various area high schools in recognition of their academic dedication and commitment to healthcare. These scholarships underscore the Foundation’s commitment to fostering talent in a range of healthcare specialties, such as chemistry, nursing, emergency medical services, neuroscience, and sonography, amongst others.

Since the launch of the scholarship program in 2003, the St. Anthony Foundation has awarded a staggering 382 scholarships, amounting to more than $314,600. This financial aid has played a crucial role in enabling students to continue their education in healthcare, thereby contributing to the overall development and expansion of the healthcare sector in west central Iowa.

The scholarship applications become available in January each year through area high schools, DMACC and on St. Anthony’s website. An independent committee then reviews these applications and makes recommendations for scholarship awards. This process ensures that the selection is based on merit, thereby maintaining the integrity of the program.
