Patriot Mobile, a Texas-based mobile virtual network provider, has recently announced its collaboration with Cell Phones for Soldiers (CPFS), a national nonprofit dedicated to offering cost-free communication services to active-duty military members and veterans. Through this partnership, Patriot Mobile accepts donations of both used and unused phones, which are then refurbished or responsibly recycled. The proceeds generated from these efforts fund various CPFS programs, including Cell Phones for Soldiers Mobile, Minutes That Matter, and Helping Heroes Home. Unused phones are meticulously inspected to ensure they are in good working condition before being distributed to veterans in need.
Qualifying veterans, especially those below the federal poverty line or enrolled in government assistance programs, receive free phone service along with valuable information on education, employment, healthcare, and local services. After a year of complimentary service, veterans have the option to retain their phones and access discounted service plans through CPFS’s veteran-owned partners. Patriot Mobile’s Chief Operating Officer, Jenny Story, expressed pride in supporting this program as part of the company’s commitment to Veterans and First Responders-focused philanthropy. Rob Bergquist, the founder and executive director of Cell Phones for Soldiers, expressed gratitude for Patriot Mobile’s generosity towards veterans and emphasized the collaborative efforts with other veteran-friendly partners across the country.
