Kromek Secures $5 Million in Groundbreaking Agreement with Siemens Healthineers

Kromek Group, a leading technology firm specializing in equipment for diagnosing serious illnesses, has recently announced the receipt of an additional $5 million from Siemens Healthineers as part of a monumental $37.5 million multi-year agreement. This agreement involves the licensing of Kromek’s advanced detector technology for incorporation into next-generation medical imaging systems, particularly supporting Siemens in manufacturing SPECT scanners powered by Kromek’s cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) platform. With this latest payment, Kromek has now received $30 million of the total agreed amount, with the remaining $7.5 million scheduled to be paid over the next three and a half years. The implications of this deal are deemed ‘transformational’ by company executives, providing a solid foundation for future growth. Kromek’s cutting-edge detectors facilitate sharper, lower-dose scans for nuclear medicine imaging, enhancing the diagnosis of diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer’s. Arnab Basu, the CEO of Kromek, based at NETPark in Sedgefield, expressed satisfaction in the successful fulfillment of their commitments under the ongoing agreement with Siemens Healthineers, which is progressing as planned.
